DMCA & Copyright Policy

SrcLog respects intellectual property rights. This page explains how we handle copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

What SrcLog Displays

SrcLog is an index and discovery platform. We display metadata about public GitHub repositories — including repository names, descriptions, README content, statistics, and links — all of which are publicly available via the GitHub API.

We do not host source code, binaries, or any original creative works. All content originates from public GitHub repositories whose owners have chosen to make them publicly visible. Our pages link back to the original GitHub repository for all substantive content.

Reporting a Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content displayed on SrcLog infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to [email protected] with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Notice".

Your notice must include all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work — describe the work you claim has been infringed, or provide a representative list if multiple works are at issue.
  2. Identification of the infringing material — provide the specific SrcLog URL(s) where the allegedly infringing content appears.
  3. Your contact information — your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. Good faith statement — a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. Accuracy statement — a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on behalf of the owner.
  6. Signature — your physical or electronic signature.

Counter-Notification

If you believe that content was removed from SrcLog as a result of a mistaken or misidentified DMCA notice, you may submit a counter-notification to [email protected].

A valid counter-notification must include:

  1. Identification of the material that was removed and its former location on SrcLog.
  2. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your judicial district.
  4. Your physical or electronic signature.

We will forward any valid counter-notification to the original complainant within 10 business days. If the complainant does not take action within 14 business days, we may restore the material.

Repeat Infringer Policy

SrcLog has a policy of removing repositories from its index in appropriate circumstances for users or repository owners who are repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.

Note: If your complaint is about the underlying GitHub repository (not the SrcLog listing), you should contact GitHub directly at support.github.com. Removing a repository from SrcLog does not remove it from GitHub.
