Carbon is one of the components of Graphite, and is responsible for receiving metrics over the network and writing them down to disk using a storage backend.

How to download and setup carbon

Open terminal and run command

git clone https://github.com/graphite-project/carbon.git

git clone is used to create a copy or clone of carbon repositories. You pass git clone a repository URL.
it supports a few different network protocols and corresponding URL formats.

Also you may download zip file with carbon https://github.com/graphite-project/carbon/archive/master.zip

Or simply clone carbon with SSH

[email protected]:graphite-project/carbon.git
