friendly_id
FriendlyId is the “Swiss Army bulldozer” of slugging and permalink plugins for ActiveRecord. It allows you to create pretty URL’s and work with human-friendly strings as if they were numeric ids for ActiveRecord models.
How to download and setup friendly_id
Open terminal and run command
git clone https://github.com/norman/friendly_id.git
git clone is used to create a copy or clone of friendly_id repositories.
You pass git clone a repository URL. it supports a few different network protocols and corresponding URL formats.
Also you may download zip file with friendly_id https://github.com/norman/friendly_id/archive/master.zip
Or simply clone friendly_id with SSH
[email protected]:norman/friendly_id.git
